Jordon Trice is the managing partner and investor relations for Mizuna Capital the manager of Mizuna Matata. After providing various consulting services stemming from developing due diligence packages for funds and managers, raising capital and providing a further awareness of the alternative investment space; Jordon wanted to provide institutional and accredited investors with quality investment products they could participate in outside the normal Wall Street category. Working in private equity as well as trading his own account and understanding what investors need to feel secure in their holdings provided him with a foundation to bridge the gap between quality emerging managers and investors looking for alternatives. Before that, Jordon worked in investment banking, retail banking, and mortgage banking. Only after experiencing the different facets of retail facing finance was he able to transition to the institutional space he is in today.
Garret Elder is the portfolio manager of Mizuna Matata and a ten-year veteran in the discretionary trading space living in Anchorage, AK with his wife and one year old son. At the young age of 14, he was already beginning to learn the ups and downs of the market and with his first account blowup he was determined to make money in the markets. After being on his own for a few years, he eventually worked with a prop firm and while getting his degree in technical investing, he was trading. He quickly went through different financial products including swing trading options, day trading equities; and even futures. Eventually finding his path and learning well defined trade setups, patterns and methodologies, he settled on the foreign exchange market. Shortly thereafter, he has his first profitable year. His friends and family quickly caught wind of his success and there was no turning back. He began trading much larger size funds and settled into his trade routine. Today he is trading just over 15m and sees this as the right time to manage his own currency fund equipped with institutional partners.
